Caudalie Divine Oil

Caudalie Divine Oil
Caudalie Divine Oil

I am by no means an “oil” person and have kept my distance over the years because of my acne-prone skin. I know, I know – I’ve heard all this “counterintuitive” stuff, but I’m not one to test the waters especially when my already troubled skin is at bay. However, I decided to take a little courage this year since I continue to hear nothing but glories and I’m finally starting to open up. But of course I had to go with a brand that typically works for my skin, which would be none other than the Caudalie Divine Oil. I have the tendency to pick up tried and true products in the blogosphere – playing it safe – so it’s no surprise that I found this oil to be both pleasant and effective. As someone who doesn’t have a lot of time and likes to keep my routine (both morning and night) fuss-free, it’s been super easy to incorporate this product into my life for three reasons:

1. Solid packaging combined with a no-brainer spray nozzle (equates to easy application).
2. Luxury feel + Luxury smell.
3. Quick absorption (doesn’t feel slippery).

My biggest fear with oils is that they will feel like actual oil with the slip and grease, but I did not experience that with this one. Even though I don’t like fragranced products, I found the smell enjoyable and not overpowering. So already two things that had me excited at “hello”.

I prefer to apply this after bathing, which is where I’ve found the spray nozzle to be most helpful. I’ve only ever used this on my face and body so I can’t attest to the wonders it could potentially work in the hair zone. The biggest benefit I’ve gained from this product is moisture, which some of you may think that at $50, you can easily buy a generic lotion to do the same thing. However, I have never had that kind of luck with any moisturizer so the price is worth it to me. I also believe my body has benefited most – my hands and elbows are significantly softer than they’ve been before. The real test will be when winter arrives…whether or not this product will combat the dryness that occurs then. It hasn’t done wonders for my face, but I’m glad to say it didn’t break me or give off any other negative effects. Though I haven’t found it necessary for the summer, I know I will be mixing a drop or two in my foundation in a couple more months as I’m excited to see it give off that strobing vibe.

Anyway, I used this all over my body prior to a wedding last weekend and noticed how incredibly soft my arms and hands felt throughout the entire day despite having to wash my hands multiple times. I’m happy to say, I’ve scored another winner here.
