Things I Finished 03

There’s both satisfaction and relief in collecting these empties.

CAUDALIE DIVINE OIL

I am gravitating more and more towards body oils over creams these days and this Caudalie Divine Oil is responsible. This product was my foray into oils, and I was so impressed at how non-greasy it was. It held moisture much longer and better than other lotions I’ve tried and absorbed so much faster. When I get ultra dry in the bleak winter, I layer a cream on top like this one by Le Metier de Beauté. My kids have mild cases of eczema and they love this product just as much. Back to the original matter though – I prefer body oils because aside from nourishing the skin, you get a really nice beautiful glow.

REVLON LASH POTION MASCARA

I’m proud to say I’m on the third segment of “Things I Finished”, which is always an exciting time for me… Hello shelf space.

Let’s dig right in…
GLOSSIER SUPER PURE

I am now on my fourth bottle with a back up of this stuff because that’s how much I love it. My skin deems niacinamide + zinc essential – although I will say I don’t think it’s strong enough for the evenings. I primarily use this in the morning before moisturizer and everything else. I won’t bore you any longer since I reviewed this product in my last empties post. But basically, it serves its purpose of keeping these shit breakouts at bay. I have the worst of luck with mascaras… The minute I find one I love, it gets discontinued. This drift started with Rimmel, then Covergirl, and now Revlon. I loved this mascara because it’s wet, black, and thickening – reminds me very much of Tarte’s Lash Paint Mascara but only at a fraction of the price. I bought a few backups when I knew they were getting rid of it, but this is my last one. Farewell my beloved lash potion…

TARTE AMAZONIAN CLAY WATERPROOF EYEBROW PENCIL

If you’re looking for a true waterproof brow product, Tarte’s Brow Mousse is a better choice. This eyebrow pencil makes a great secondary product though. Compared to the Anastasia Brow Wiz, it’s very similar, but with a subpar spoolie. In humid weather, I feel like it smudges quite a bit, but sits nicely otherwise. The color options are also lacking. Rich Brown works well with my grown out balayage hair, but once those highlights are out, I’ll probably look silly with brown eyebrows and semi-black hair…

L’OREAL TELESCOPIC SHOCKING EXTENSIONS MASCARA

For a lengthening drugstore mascara, this Shocking Extensions is my top pick. I loved pairing it with the Revlon above, but will need to find a new companion for it. The brush is thin and small enough to darken and lengthen the lower lashes as well – just one more reason to love it. It’s also perfect for getting those pesky sprouts at the inner corners of the eyes. The only problem is, I’m now having a hard time finding this exact version in stores… It’s priced at $14.99 on Amazon, which makes it borderline luxury price point. Boo! I have the shittiest luck with mascaras…

PIXI GLOW TONIC TO-GO

I have an unhealthy propensity for acids so these pads quickly grabbed my attention. They contain 5% Glycolic Acid which gently exfoliates the skin and makes it appropriate for daily use. My skin leans dry, but I didn’t find this product to be too harsh or irritating. As a matter of fact, my skin looks and feels smoother and I didn’t feel like my makeup adhered to the drier, flakier spots. My only gripe is that over time, the pads at the bottom seem to dry out a little. This means that next round, I’ll be buying the Glow Tonic bottle instead. If you’re looking to introduce AHAs into your skincare regiment, I’d highly recommend you do the same.

PEACH & LILY CHUBBY CHEEKS SHEET MASK

This was the last of my Peach & Lily sheet masks and I preferred the Reset Button and Good Skin Day over this one because of my top skin concerns. This mask is geared towards those concerned with aging skin. Although my skin certainly felt more plump and fresh the next day, I was still annoyed with my dull and irritated skin. Overall though, you can’t do no wrong with these sheet masks…
