Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate Elixir
Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate Serum

It’s hard not to fall into temptation and just buy a product that has elite reviews somehow feeling hopeful it will work for you too. This was exactly the case with Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate Elixir. I’m not even going to deny that I mainly jumped on board with this because I saw that it contained turmeric extract, which holds a soft place in my heart. After the first night, my skin seemed ok, nothing better but nothing worse. And then came the the second night where two white heads surfaced, but I thought nothing of it so I gave it third whirl. I found myself waking up to clogged pores, 3 more white heads, and an angry flaming pimple on my chin. Finally, no more attempts. Even if this was just a “purging” stage, I can’t risk it…this stuffs hates me.

So although it didn’t work for my face, I’m not angry because what it actually did do was moisturize my 90-year-old-seeming hands. My hands are so severely dry that they crack and bleed at the slightest bend. In the midst of my third trial, I accidentally dispensed too much product so I rubbed the excess on the back of my hands. To my surprise, my hands were somewhat soft – something I haven’t seen in the last few months – although my face had broken out. It’s only been one night, but I’m hopeful I’ll have baby skin in no time.
