What You Need to Know About Glossier Cloud Paint

glossier cloud paint review | le jolie

Glossier Cloud Paint is here!

If you’ve been on Instagram (or social media for that matter), you may have noticed that there’s been an explosion of conversation surrounding Glossier’s newly launched Cloud Paints. Here’s what you need to know:

#1 It’s a gel-cream formula that goes on seamlessly.
#2 It’s sheer, but buildable.
#3 Easy as hell to use.
#4 And as always – my absolute favorite thing about Glossier – looks natural AF.

I’m a HUGE sucker for all things liquid or cream these days – that means highlighter, blush, bronzer – everything! That also means I have a quite the products piling up so I strategically chose not to buy every single color. Note that I’m not really a blush fanatic to begin with and typically stick to my usual Tarte Exposed, disco’d Nars Douceur, or Ilia Multi-Stick (At Last). From the recommendation of fellow blogger friend, Cindy, I opted for Dusk (a dusty rose) and Puff (a cool pink), and have ZERO regrets.

The tubes (brilliant packaging btw) were slightly smaller than I expected, but still worth the $18 price tag (or $15 if you buy two). Be careful when squeezing though because the product comes out quickly – I’ve always ended up with more than I needed. You literally only need a dab for each side of your face. They are highly pigmented but blend out super easily into sheer beauty. The very first thing I noticed and loved about these were that they are very moisturizing and absent of the stickiness inherent in most cream blushes. They’re very user-friendly, which means it’s near impossible to overdo blush here.

I’m completely in love with the two shades I picked and highly recommend them if you tend to like dustier, muted cheek colors. Puff is very close to Stila’s Convertible Color in Lilium (something I’ve loved for years). But in my opinion, the Glossier Cloud Paint has longer staying power and comes without the tackiness. Dusk is extremely close to Nars Douceur, which just makes my heart sing because I’d been wondering what I’ll do when I’m out of it! Mix both together and you get something like Tarte’s Exposed Blush but in cream form. Hell yes. I love mixing them TBH.

The final brilliant thing about these Cloud Paints is they double up as a creamy lip stain even though they’re not marketed that way! I even felt that they were hydrating enough for the lips! If you own the Generation G Lipsticks, I would say Dusk is to Cake as Puff is to Like, but they yield different results – they’re less balmy looking, but not drying at all! (Tutorial to come.)

Overall, the Glossier Cloud Paint has been a joy to use. The hype you’ve heard and seen is totally legit. These blushes sit right up there with all the goodies in my no-makeup makeup arsenal. I highly doubt you’d be disappointed. And if you don’t get them, you’ll be missing out. I’m happy to answer any questions you might have so send them through!
