Toner Testing

Clarins Toner
Clarins Toner

I’ve tried more toners than one ever should…now as to why I haven’t settled on one – I’m not sure. I’ve gone from Clinique to Mario Badescu, Estee Lauder, Kiehls, and more, which I can’t even remember. As of late though, I’ve been testing the Gentle Exfoliating Toner and Camomile Toner from Clarins, one of which I’m almost finished with. For days I’m hardly wearing makeup, I’ve thrown Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel Toner back in the routine too.

Clarins is an obvious established brand, but also one I’ve never been too mindful of. I’m happy I picked these toners up though because they’re here to stay. I found the Camomile Toner perfect for my dry winter skin. It’s super gentle, non-drying, and even ideal for the most sensitive skin. As gentle as it is, you’d think it probably won’t remove any residual makeup, but nope, it really cleans and freshens up the skin without being too much. As we head into the hot summer, it’ll probably be too gentle for my taste, which is where the Exfoliating Toner comes in. I believe the recommended use is only two times a week so I’ve been enjoying it to break up my normal skincare routine although I don’t feel that it would do any damage if I used it more. It isn’t harsh at all despite containing AHAs and other exfoliating ingredients.

As far as the Thayers goes, I like it, but I don’t find it the most effective for removing any potential leftover makeup, especially eyeliner. It almost seems that this should be used when you first wake up in the morning and don’t need or want to wash your face. Sounds like a good idea, no?

Anyway, have I missed out on any good ones you’ve tried? Please share in the comments.
